2003 Field Day was a great success and a lot of fun for the Lake Area Radio Klub. We operated from City Park on Lake Kampeska once again this year. We had a great turnout and quite a few visitors. This year's operations were highlighted by a last minute (literally) OSCAR-14 satellite contact. This was the first event in which we utilized the new 10 KW emergency generator and we found out how much of a gas-hog it is. The beast burned up about 3 gallons of gas in an hour, but it worked GREAT!
The next day also presented a surprise, when KBØLCR's picture turned up on the front page of the Watertown Public Opinion (photo on this page).
