Safety Day 2004 at Wal-Mart gave us a chance to fully setup our newly "remodeled" antenna trailer. We installed an 80 meter dipole and the triband VHF/UHF antenna. We had quite a few visitors interested in what we were doing, and we were able to chat with some of the other organizations involved with public Safety. KBØLCR also brought his Arrow Satellite Antenna and several attempts were made to communicate with AO-51 and the ISS. Although we did check-in on the 75 meter Minnesota and South Dakota Noon Nets, the antennas and radios were used primarily for monitoring and demonstrating.
This year, there were representatives from L.A.R.K., Codington County Search & Dive Rescue, Red Cross, Salvation Army, the Watertown Police Department, and the Watertown Fire Department. Jim Stinson, WBØWIH, pulled triple-duty, representing LARK, Salvation Army, and the Police Department.
