Safety Day 2006 was September 30 in the Wal-Mart parking lot. This year we setup our tower trailer with a VHF/UHF antenna, a 20 meter dipole, and a 75 meter dipole. Joe, KKØSD, also brought his Arrow Satellite Antenna and his HT and made several satellite contacts. Once again, it was a good demonstration of our equipment and our capabilities.
This year, there were representatives from L.A.R.K., Codington County Search & Rescue, Red Cross, Salvation Army, the Watertown Police Department, the Watertown Fire Department, Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), and Ultimate Kicks Tae Kwan Do. Jim, WBØWIH, wore 4 or 5 hats this year (we've lost count), representing LARK, Salvation Army, the Police Department, and C.E.R.T.
